Swings

We took Matthew again the other day to go on the swings.  He wasn't too sure about it the first time we went, but this time he LOVED it.

I have a video, too, but since my computer is so old (apparently less than 4 years old is old for technology now), I can't upload it. So I'll try to do it later.

Pool Fun

Holy cow was it hot today!  At one point, the thermostat on my car said 103.  Sheesh.  Since it's been so hot, I got Matthew's little pool out.  I filled it up yesterday (Thursday) morning, and it was warm within a few hours.  But I waited until the sun went down to put Matthew in the pool because it's just too hot out.

He had so much fun.  He loves that little pool.

I love how out of all the toys he has in the pool, he mostly wanted to play with the tupperware.

Tonight it was 97 degrees outside at like 8 o'clock.  And since he decided to take a short nap in the car at 7 while we were running some errands, I knew he wasn't going to bed any time soon.  So we had a little more fun in the pool.

I just think this picture is funny.  I love that he has one in each hand.  The one in his right hand is empty.

9 Months Old!

I can hardly believe it, but Matthew is 9 months old.  We take him next week for his 9 month checkup.  Here are some photos of our little photo shoot this morning.

He was not the easiest subject.  Probably because he was up this morning before 6.  All he wanted to do was suck on that toy.

It's a fishing rod, from a little bath play set.

I managed to get it away from him, but he wasn't too keen on smiling.

No toy?  No binky?  I'll settle for my fingers.

This is my favorite.

Sweet boy.

He's done.

I have my toy back!

I tried to get some of him on the blanket, but he refused to look at me.

Notice how he has the toy in his hand?

Matthew is so cute, and a lot of fun.  He babbles more and more each day.  He says lots of words, but I'm not sure if he knows what he's saying yet.  Oh, and he's figuring out how to crawl forward.  He is definitely mobile now, as he scoots backwards all over the place, and in circles.

We are simply crazy about this kid, and so happy that he's a part of our family.

Father's Day Photo

{Technically, the day after Father's Day, but cute nonetheless.}

A Day at the Zoo

Connor had the day off on Friday, so we decided to go to the Zoo.  Aside from Zoo Lights, I hadn't been to the zoo in forever.  We had a good time.  Matty was more interested in other people than he was in animals.

After the zoo, we headed to Ruth's Diner for an early dinner.  Matthew was cute as ever.  Oh, and he has a new tooth!  I didn't even notice it come through, which I give full credit to the teething necklace for.  (It's Baltic Amber -- a natural anti-inflammatory.  It just has to be in contact with his skin, and it may sound crazy, but I swear it helps.)

Unfortunately, we headed home right during rush hour, so the drive home was a little long, and Matty was so done with being in the car.  But we made it home in pretty good time.  It was a really fun day, and a fun outing with our little family.

Father's Day

Somehow it completely escaped my mind to get a picture of Connor with Matthew today.  And now Matty is already asleep, so I'll do it tomorrow.

Anyway, we had a good day.  Matthew was up bright and early this morning, but we let Connor sleep in.  Then we gave him his gifts (a tie, a collage I made for him, and some movies that he wanted).

Aside from going to church, we didn't do much.  Matthew was kind of cranky today because his first nap was cut short this morning when we had to leave to go to church, and his second nap wasn't too great either.

We had warmed up some water in an inflatable pool that we bought yesterday, and it was  pretty warm so we put Matty in a swim diaper and put him in.

First he wasn't so sure what to think...

Okay, this isn't too bad.

I kind of like this!

Splashing is so much fun!

So is hitting the pool!

When pool time was over, we took Matty out and had dinner.  I made spaghetti and we gave some to Matty.  He wasn't too crazy about it, but he did love sucking on the broccoli.

(I have a video of him eating the spaghetti, but I can't upload it for some reason.  I'll try again later.  It's pretty funny.)
