Halloween was fun this year, although celebrating it is still more fun for me and Connor than for Matthew. He'll be more excited about it next year.
Several weeks ago we went and picked out our pumpkins.
We opted for painting them again this year. Carving is just so messy, and I'm not very good at it anyway. Here's how our pumpkins turned out.
The weekend before Halloween we had our ward party. Matthew dressed up in his costume. I mistakenly called him a lion, but he was in fact a tiger. A very cute one. Although he wasn't such a big fan of the hat.
We got him to wear it briefly.
On Halloween we got ready and took some cute pictures. Aunt Casey stopped by to see his cuteness.
Connor worked until 6, but he was able to come home a little early. Once he did we were off. Matthew only took 1 nap on Halloween, and it was an early one so I knew he was going to be very tired and our time was limited. We went around our block, and then we went to Connor's parents and visited with them and a couple of neighbors.
Matthew loooved his candy. Suckers. Chocolate. Smarties. Everything. And for being only 13 months old he got quite the stash!
Trick or Treating w/ daddy
So, by the end of the night, he was just plain done. We got home and gave him a quick bath because he was so sticky from a sucker, and then it was straight to bed.
It was a very successful Halloween! Next year will be fun because he will be more excited about it.
