Ocean City (July 31 - Aug 2)

On the 31st, my mom, Matthew, and I headed off to Ocean City.  Matthew was very excited for the trip.

We hopped in the car, made a stop at Target for some baby food and other supplies, and then we were on our way.  Amazingly, Matthew slept for about 2 hours on the way out there, and was really happy for the rest of the 3 1/2 hour drive.

Once we got there we checked into our hotel (The Majestic), and then headed to the beach.  I was a little concerned that Matthew wouldn't like the sand, but he loved it.

He even liked eating it.

Then we checked out the ocean, which he liked as long as he wasn't getting too wet.

Then we went back to the blanket to play in the sand with the toys that nana bought Matthew.

After nap time, we had some dinner and explored the boardwalk, where we found a little carousel to ride.

Then went on a regular sized carousel, but I just sat with Matthew because he wasn't too sure about it.

When we returned back to the hotel room, we got ready for bed, and then Matthew had fun looking at his reflection in the mirror until it was time to go to sleep.

The next day was rainy.  We had breakfast, walked the boardwalk a little more, then Matthew and I headed back to the room for a nap.  When he woke up we went back to the beach, but this time just in our regular clothes.

We munched on some Thrasher's french fries, which Matthew loved.

He also munched on some sand.

And sometimes sand and french fry together.

And the bucket was good, too.

We stayed for a while, until the tide started to come in and soaked me from the knees down.

We decided to wait to take the little tram that goes up and down the boardwalk.

That ended up being a good idea because it started to rain again not long after we got on.  So we rode around for a while, and got off once we got to the hotel.  I changed my clothes, and grabbed the stroller, and we went to a very early (4:00) dinner.  We had only had french fries for lunch, so we were hungry.

After dinner, Matthew needed a wardrobe change, so we headed back to the hotel, and he fell asleep on the walk.  I let him sleep for a little bit, and then we all went back out to the board walk and bought some fudge and taffy from Candy Kitchen.

Rainy Ocean City.  No one on the beach.

The next morning, it was beautiful out.  But also very hot and humid.  I was sweating like crazy just from trying to load the stuff in the car.

Five generations of my family have sat and rocked on that porch.

We got in the car, but before we left Ocean City we stopped at some outlet stores, where nana went a little crazy with all the clothes that she bought Matthew.  He got some really cute stuff.  It's a little big on him now, but the way this kid grows, he'll grow into it in no time.

We stopped at Panera for breakfast, and then headed on our way.  Matthew fell asleep very quickly, and slept for a good portion of the drive, thankfully.

We had a fun time!
