A week in photos

Saturday the 25th (holiday weekend in Utah).  We decided to go explore Antelope island.  I haven't been there since we filmed PotGSL and Connor hadn't been there in forever either.  Well, Matthew fell asleep while we were on the causeway and Dylan threw up a thousand times (really only like 3 times).  Our car still smells a little like vomit.

On Wednesday the 29th I woke up and couldn't find Matthew.  I panicked for a moment, and then Connor found him here.  This is the toy room closet.  He was holding the iPad, but I used it to take the picture.

Our swing cushion is falling apart, but I sort of fixed it!

Also on the 29th, my mom had a birthday.  I dug out this super awesome photo.  I can't remember what year this was -- I'm guessing 1993ish.

Saturday August 1st.  Matthew wanted to put the chair in his car, and became very frustrated when it wouldn't fit.

I think this was also Saturday morning.  He woke up very tired and promptly fell back asleep on the recliner.  Once again, cuddling the iPad.

On Saturday we went to the park and were the only ones there!  We didn't stay too long, and the kids didn't play on the playground at all.  Matthew mostly dug in the sand at the volleyball court, and Dylan walked around banging on the picnic tables because they make such a fun sound!

Dylan's one year stats!

He measured in at 31" tall (90th %ile)
and 23 lbs 8 ozs (80th %ile)
(I can never remember the head stats)

Dylan did great during the appointment...until they gave him the shots.  That wasn't fun.  He got a huge welt on one of his legs at one of the injection sites.  A couple of days after his appointment he was really sick and threw up about 6 or 7 times that day.  He was still happy, though!

At the one year appointment it's common to test the blood for lead and iron levels.  Dylan's blood came back with low iron so they had us go to the hospital to retest.  The next day we got a call that it tested low again.  So since Dylan is anemic we have to give him iron supplements 2x a day.  I am good at remembering to give it to him in the morning, but I have a hard time remembering to give it to him at dinner!  Anyway, they said to bring him back in a month or so to retest since it's something he'll grow out of.  Hopefully he grows out of it soon because the drops I have to give him are gross.

One Year Pics

We got some photos of Dylan for his first birthday, and I love them!  They do a great job showing off his personality.  We also got some taken with Matthew, but he wasn't too into it.  We did get some cute ones, though!

Dylan turned one!

I may never catch up, so here's some recent news...

Dylan turned one yesterday!

We had so much fun celebrating him yesterday.  He is such a happy, sweet, fun loving, caring boy.  Things just would not be the same around here without him.  I love how much Matthew and Dylan love each other.  Every time Dylan wakes up from a nap, Matthew gets SO excited.  It's adorable.  They are so sweet together, and I hope they'll always be best buds.

Here are some highlights from Dylan's big day yesterday!
