Friday

Friday was much less eventful, but still quite fun. We were going to go swimming, but it was kind of windy and cold. Instead, we decided to go see Madagascar 3. It was a fun movie. I don't love the Madagascar movies, but this one was probably the best of the 3, in my opinion. It was clever, and fun. The kids laughed, and so did I.

We went home, had some dinner, and everyone went to bed except me and Joe. We watched Crazy, Stupid, Love. I've seen that movie before but I love it. It's so good, and so funny. The ending is perfect. Joe fell asleep during the movie, but I stayed up for the whole thing. I could watch that movie over and over again.

Thursday - The Exploratorium

On Thursday we had a bit of an adventure. We took the BART into San Francisco, then a bus to the Exploratorium. All that traveling took us about 2 hours. There was plenty of confusion about how to buy tickets. With some help, we figured that out, got on the train, and found some seats. We got off the train, and got instructions on how to get to our bus. We found the bus stop after initially going down the wrong street. Our bus # came, we started to get on, luckily someone mentioned we were going to the Exploratorium, and the bus driver told us that we needed a different bus -- same #, but it goes further than that one. So, we got off, and then waited for the other bus.

About 5 minutes later, the correct bus arrived. We got on, and it was packed. I was holding Addison and standing up. It wasn't easy to balance myself and her simultaneously. Eventually, a very nice lady gave her seat up for me. Once we hit Chinatown, the bus emptied so we traveled much more comfortably to the Exploratorium after that.

Once we arrived at our destination, we had lunch and then went in and explored! It was a lot of fun. There's all sorts of stuff there, and it's almost all hands on. We even had the chance to watch a cow eye dissection. So. Gross. Robin and I passed on that. :)

We were there for about 3 hours, if not more. When we left we walked back to the bus stop, took the bus back to the train, and then back to Joe and Crystal's house. I was exhausted, and I think everyone else was too.

Fun in July - Wednesday

On Wednesday, July 11th, Robin, Liam and I flew out to Oakland for Taylor's baptism. I seriously think there was some divine intervention with our flight. For some reason the flight was wide open. All the flights earlier that week were almost full. When I got to the airport I mentioned that to the lady at the counter and she said that she was really surprised by it, too. Seriously, we were very lucky. They gave us seat assignments right at the counter (we were traveling standby). We got through security quickly, and waited for our flight.

Robin and Liam were excited about their "wings" they got when we checked in. Sadly, Liam lost his during our layover in Long Beach. Robin gave him hers a few days later.

We got to Long Beach and had a 4 hour layover. Yep, 4 hours. Robin and Liam were actually really good. They played on their DS and listened to their iPods. The 4 hours didn't exactly fly by, but they went by quickly enough.

We had a little drama getting our boarding passes for our flight to Oakland. Long story short, they never paged me so I finally went up and asked for our boarding passes. I knew there were seats available. We ended up being the last ones to get on the plane. But we made it, so that's all that matters!

After a relatively short flight, we made it to Oakland. Joe and Alex picked us up, and we went to Joe's house. All the cousins were very excited to see each other. I was excited to eat some dinner (this little boy makes me hungry). I was exhausted, but thrilled that we made our flights without any real issues. Standby travel can be fun!

Fun in June

Aside from my weekly updates, I haven't been very good at blogging lately. So, I will now catch up!

In June, my sister-in-law, Crystal and her 4 very cute kids came to visit for a weekend. Joe wasn't able to come out, but we had tons of fun without him. :)

They got here Saturday morning, and we went swimming. Can I just say that when I walked into the deep water and all the pressure was lifted off my belly that it was the best feeling ever? Why don't I have a pool? After swimming, we got some pizza for dinner, and just had fun hanging out.

Sunday we went to church, and later had a BBQ at Eric and Kari's house, which was also very fun. I know all the kids had fun playing. We took Andy with us. He LOVES to run around their backyard, which is ginormous compared to ours.

Monday we went to Cherry Hill and had a blast. I didn't go down any water slides, but I went in the pool for a while, and I floated around the lazy river for probably about 45 minutes. Can it get better than that? I don't think so. :) I did manage to get incredibly burned at Cherry Hill. Only from the knees down, despite putting on sunscreen. My ankles and feet were soooo swollen. The worst part of being sunburnt and pregnant? You can't take ibuprofen. The following two days I had training at work and I had to take Tylenol to take the edge off the pain, but it really didn't do much.
