A Theory

We have a theory about why Ryan was driving at 5:30 in the morning on Friday the 16th.

We found out that the night before, Ryan had been over at his friend, Michelle's, apartment.  Apparently it was the 2 of them hanging out with Michelle's roommate and boyfriend.  They stayed up late talking and laughing, and Ryan fell asleep on the couch.  Eric talked to Michelle and she told him that she woke up a couple of times and Ryan was still there, but then she woke up again and he was gone, which she thought  was really strange.  She asked if Ryan had a history of sleepwalking, which he did.  She also said it was really strange that Ryan took the E-470 home because apparently that route doesn't make a whole lot of sense when driving from her apartment to his.

So we think Ryan was sleepwalking and started to drive himself home.  Another contributing factor to the theory is that we haven't been able to find shoes.  In the bag that the funeral home gave us there are socks, but there weren't any shoes.  Eric asked Michelle if she had seen any shoes that Ryan may have left at her apartment and she said that she wasn't sure and she would check.  I'm not sure if she's found them yet.

It's definitely a possibility.
